Forest Festival of Trees

May 15-17, 2018

The Ontario Library Association’s (OLA) Forest of Reading® and the Festival of Trees occupy places of prominence in Canada’s literary landscape. The Forest of Reading® is Canada’s largest recreational reading programme of its kind. Every year, more than 270,000 Ontario children read and vote for their favourite book in eight age-specific award categories.

The Forest of Reading® culminates in the Festival of Trees, a three-day awards celebration where the winners of each category are announced and celebrated alongside young readers. The festival is Canada’s largest literary event for children, with more than 10,000 attending the event at Harbourfront Centre. Each day has energetic ceremonies with live entertainment, as well as workshops with the nominated authors and illustrators.

Students across Ontario read 100 nominated works and cast votes for their favourite titles in late April. For a full list of 2018 nominees, please click here.

The event is open to the Public. Tickets are $15.50 each!

Information about each award can be found here.
