Toronto’s International Festival of Authors Returns with a Stellar Lineup of Celebrated and Emerging Authors!

Toronto’s International Festival of Authors is proud to announce the authors participating in the 2017 festival!  The  IFOA takes place from October 19 to the 29th at the Harbourfront Center.  These eleven days are packed with readings, one-on-one interviews, thought-provoking panel discussions, special events and free book signings. Tickets go on sale on September 16th!

IFOA is delighted to welcome award-winning and best-selling Canadian authors: André Alexis, Dionne Brand, Liona Boyd, Claire Cameron, George Elliott Clarke, Emma Donoghue, Barbara Gowdy, Terry Fallis, Helen Humphreys, Frances Itani, Pasha Malla, Lee Maracle, Anne Michaels, Heather O’Neill, Carol OffAlison Pick, Eden Robinson, Seth, David Silcox, Linda Spalding and Kathleen Winter.

Spoken word artists Dean Atta and Deanna Rodger (UK) will join local slam poets to offer an immersive experience to all present.

This year the Canadian poets that will awe you with their imagination are: Gwen Benaway, Ronna Bloom, Roo Borson, Amanda Earl, Michael Fraser, Julie Cameron Gray, Jennifer LoveGrove, John Nyman, Nicholas Power, Stuart Ross, Dane Swan and Catriona Wright.

Discover debut novelists, David Bouchet, Nicholas Eames, K.J Howe, Rachel Manley, Jean E. Pendziwol, Jesse Ruddock and Mary Walsh as well as emerging writer Grace O’Connell.

Discover the power of the short story with Michelle Berry, Carol Bruneau, Bill Gaston, Diane Schoemperlen and Drew Hayden Taylor.

Janie Chang, David Layton, Bianca Marais, Roberta Rich, Emily Schultz infuse their fiction with history and uncover the mystery of the past.
